The Interlake School Division is located in the centre of Canada in the province of Manitoba. We encompass an area of approximately 1088 s
quare miles stretching from north of Winnipeg to Teulon, east to Stony Mountain and west to Woodlands.

The Interlake School Division is comprised of three collegiates (Stonewall, Teulon and Warren), all of which support Industrial Arts, Home Economics, Band programs and achieve excellence in all sports. We have Provincial Champion teams in badminton, volleyball, basketball, track and field, hockey and soccer. We have two Middle Years schools (Grosse Isle and Stonewall Centennial ) and eight Elementary Schools (Balmoral, Argyle, Rosser, R. W. (Bobby) Bend in Stonewall, Stony Mountain, Teulon, Warren and Woodlands). Kindergarten is available in all regions. We also maintain eight Hutterite Colony Schools across the division.

With a total student population of 3040 students, we employ 219 FTE teachers and 265 support staff. We are proud to maintain a respectable Pupil-to-Teacher Ratio. Special Needs students are supported and provided with extra staff. There are student service teams in every school and divisional support exists in the form of Child Psychology, Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy, and Occupational Therapy. In addition, the division employs a Home Study Coordinator and runs an off-campus program called the Alternative Centre for Education (A.C.E.). Our Continuing Education program offers a wide variety of courses for all interests from School Bus Driver Training to afternoon Drawing classes. We support the International Education Program and currently have seven foreign students attending our schools. We have a fleet of 44 regular school buses to transport our 1600 bus students, traveling approximately 1 million kilometres per year!

Our School Division Administration Offices are located in Stonewall, which is approximately 25 kilometres north of Winnipeg.

Absenteeism Information
When a report of unusual absenteeism is received, the school contacts public health for expert advice and direction. Public health will tell the school if any changes need to be made to reduce the spread of infection, and the school will inform parents of these recommended changes.
It is important to note that absenteeism reports may not be because of the flu. Absenteeism may be related to other medical or non-medical reasons.
For more information on how to reduce your risk of H1N1 flu, visit www.manitoba.ca/flu .
